Crestins

This photographic project aims to guide us through the narrow paths of Crestins, which take us to the different houses in sequence that are there. It is a town characterized by its single-storey houses, all with a very similar structure, but each with its significant differences in terms of aesthetics. These are unique houses that give us personality and, inevitably, make us imagine what kind of person lives in them. It is a project that has as main objective to make known a small locality that normally does not capture our attention, but that if we notice the details, we see that it has its interesting and unique characteristics.

Portas Fronhas

Portas Fronhas is a small parish in expansion, located at the doors of Póvoa de Varzim and that is part of the red line of AMP. From several perspectives of what is landscape photography and what are the notions of territory, a project was developed whose final purpose is to share the actual reality of the parish through its registration and critical analysis of space. Being Portas Fronhas a territory of relatively low cost, it ends up becoming a space quite accessible to all that involves new buildings, whether they are commercial or not. Through a vision that interconnects its nature with what are the great constructions, it is intended to analyze the contrast between all that is temporary or uncertain and the new reality of Portas Fronhas.

Lidador

The growth of large urban networks and their consequent modernization brought not only practical challenges, but also raised questions that are associated with the very conception of our existential network. Space and its characterization are, more than ever, volatile and chimeric elements, hybrids of old times, present and coming, in varying doses of hope and disbelief. Statism has been losing its place and relevance in society, manifesting this loss in a form as obvious as the need for exacerbated displacement, faster and more comprehensive than ever. Train and metro lines, airports, city bus lines and extensive road networks are one of the pillars of social hives. “Where do the elderly lie?” it appears as an attempt to characterize the space and its transmutation in the parish of Vila Nova da Telha, where the Lidador Metro Station is located. The construction of the Porto Metropolitan Network has contributed to an enormous social and economic growth of the historic Portuguese city, but, almost 17 years after the opening of the first line, it is urgent to think about its effects on the landscape and on the social dynamics of the spaces it serves. crossed. In a space where the rural and the city, agriculture and industry, and modernity and tradition intersect, confront and influence, the result is an increasingly common combat zone in large metropolises, serving as a case study for the analysis of new spaces and approaches to the territory.
